Psychoeducational Assessments

Psychoeducational assessments help to describe an individual’s learning profile and psychological functioning. This assessment will analyze how individuals receive, understand, remember, and express information.

Psychoeducational assessments explore cognition and academic skills.

Psychoeducational Assessments help to determine the specifics of a client’s learning profile and establish strengths and weaknesses that may result in a diagnosis.

Furthermore, these assessments evaluate overall functioning including social, emotional, and behavioral characteristics that can impact day-to-day functioning.

ADHD Assessments

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may impact one’s functioning in many environments. In order to determine if you meet criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, a psychologist will conduct a thorough ADHD assessment for you, involving clinical and cognitive tests.

If a diagnosis is warranted, areas of strengths and challenges will be identified, as well as recommendations and strategies.

Results from an ADHD assessment may also be used for medication consultations with other treating healthcare professionals, for insurance purposes and other accommodations.

Psychodiagnostic Assessments

Psychodiagnostic assessments and mental health evaluations consist of clinical interviews and the administration of scientific, evidence-based questionnaires. The interview and questionnaires are used in combination to help a psychologist understand the nature of the client’s difficulties.

Often, individuals seek psychodiagnostic assessments to determine the presenting mental illness through possible diagnoses (e.g., depression, an anxiety disorder), to guide treatment planning, and/or to assist in accommodations in relevant settings.
